If you’re an office professional, it’s probably safe to say that your digital world is vast and complex. If you have trouble managing all of the different pieces, I have a resource for you.
The article below summarizes the video content.
Look, the modern business world is absolutely FULL of electronic clutter. You’re probably totally overloaded with documents, spreadsheets, photos, passwords, emails, and so much more.
And you have a lot of different places where things are created, delivered, and stored—in various applications, the cloud, on your computer, in shared drives, and so on.
To be successful in this modern era, you need proven practices to help manage all of these different aspects of your electronic space. It’s not just about cleaning things up, it’s about creating systems and structures to keep your virtual world organized now and in the future.
This is the topic of a training session I’m hosting this month exclusively for members of the Career Success Library.
If you’re not yet a member, don’t worry, I’ll tell you how to become one in just a minute. But first, I want to share one specific thing we’re going to be talking about in this month’s session and that is…
Your Digital Organization Ecosystem
This is my own language which I use to describe the set of assets, tools, and rules you use to work within and manage your virtual world.
In this session, we’re going to look at creating a structure for your ecosystem—identifying the assets you have, the tools you use (including apps and various data storage options), and the rules that define exactly what should go where.
Once you have this kind of clarity, you’ll have a roadmap that helps you navigate your virtual world. This gives you tremendous peace of mind and takes the guesswork out of deciding where to save things and figuring out where to find things.
It’s also a tool you can share with others, which is hugely helpful because much of your virtual world is probably shared with various colleagues and teammates.
This is just one of the key topics we’re talking about in this month’s training session.
We’ll also discuss retention best practices and how to implement consistent clean up routines and effective controls to keep things organized—because no matter how good your structure is and how clearly defined your rules are, things are always going to get messy again especially when you have a lot of different people working in shared systems.
This session will include a robust participant handout and a Certificate of Attendance for those of you who need to collect continuing education units for maintaining your professional certifications.
If this sounds like a session you’d benefit from attending, here’s what you need to know.
